I think I have mentioned before that Gavin has a passion for trains.... specifically Thomas the Train. We decided that for his third birthday we would throw him a Thomas the Train party. This is the first year he experienced actual anticipation for his birthday. It was a busy week with Vacation Bible School, but I got online on Thursday night and got some fun party ideas. You can see from the pictures that Gavin had an AMAZING Thomas the Train cake. We have a family friend who makes cakes and she can do just about anything.
For decorations, we took black duct tape and made it look like train tracks were running through our house. We had some pictures of Thomas up and of course all the plates/napkins, etc. We made a Thomas out of cardboard boxes (painted by
aunt Annie and Grandma Terry). We had little black bean bags and played a game of tossing the coal (bean bags) into Thomas. We had conductor hats and train whistles for all the kids along with cute little train cups.Gavin had a blast and as he was blowing out his candles he said, "This is my best birthday party ever!"
